Nowadays, when fun means going out with friends and partying until the wee hours of the morning, socializing in the real sense of the word is becoming less and less. There is too much noise, and too much movement, to allow anyone to really enjoy each other’s company.
Why Having a Home Wine Tasting Party Makes Sense
There are many reasons for you to throw a home wine tasting party – you could really enjoy tasting wine and want your friends join you in the exercise, you may like to learn about tasting wine and find a home wine tasting party to be the easiest crash course for this, or you simply want to have fun!
A home wine tasting party is a lot of fun. It does not matter whether you really know anything about wine or not. There are wine tasting kits available on the market and after buying them, all you need is to call your friends for an unforgettable evening of tasting wine.
What You Need To Keep In Mind When Organizing Your Home Wine Tasting Party
The party, in order to really have a great effect, needs to be confined to people who know each other well and who get along with each other well. Here, all the socializing will revolve around the tasting of wine which is a very active engagement; as there is no space for anyone who comes and sulks in a corner of the room.
You will need a few good wine bottles. Do not restrict yourself to only one color or brand of wine. Choose a nice combination of red and white wines. You may have to get 2-3 bottles of each wine, depending on how many guests you have. In order to have a good variety and keep the party within budget, you can even ask your guests to bring one wine bottle each.
You will need to have wine testing cards for each of your guests; these would be best typed leaving enough space for comments. Have a card per wine bottle and in case you are asking your friends to carry their own bottles, have a few with the name of the wine left blank. Of course, along with the cards, have a sharpened pencil for everyone as well.
Lastly, you will need to provide some cheese, or oyster crackers which the guests can use to cleanse their mouths in between the tasting bouts.
To make the party complete, ensure you have some soft music playing in the background, just sufficient to allow the conversation to carry on unabated and then all you need is to get going!
